Warm hat with a beautiful pattern and a bright pompom. Knitted from a fairly thick yarn on the needles No. 5 and No. 6.

Hat dimensions: circumference - 50 cm, and height without pompom - 24 cm.

This hat is knitted from Phildar Partner 6 yarn, which contains 50% nylon, 25% wool and 25% acrylic. The composition of the yarn is such that it will have sufficient stiffness and keep its shape well, and at the same time it will warm well, due to the presence of natural and artificial wool, such as acrylic.

Phildar Partner 6 yarn is sold in 50g skeins that contain 66m of thread. The yarn is thick enough that we have to use 5mm and 6mm needles to knit the hat.

The author of the model chose the color of the yarn gray for the hat, and pink for the pompom. We need, in this case, 3 skeins of yarn gray color and one is pink. Of course, you are free to choose a different color scheme, but remember that the designer was guided by the recommendations of the current fashion in choosing the colors of the model.

We will knit a hat with an elastic band, knitting needles with a diameter of 5 mm, and a spiral pattern, with knitting needles with a diameter of 6 mm.

The pattern scheme is given in the appendix, along with descriptions and explanations.

We check the density of knitting by tying the sample. We will knit the sample according to the scheme, typing the original 20 loops on knitting needles with a diameter of 6 mm. If, after going through 23 rows, we ended up with a 10x10 square, then we can start knitting a hat.

Description of the process of knitting a hat with a pompom

We take knitting needles with a diameter of 5 mm, the yarn of the main color, and we collect 98 loops.

We knit a row of facial loops - this is the front side of knitting.

After that, we knit a strip 3 cm wide with an elastic band. The elastic band alternates 3 front loops with 3 wrong ones, and work with an elastic band must be completed in the wrong row, and the loops must also be wrong.

We turn to wider knitting needles, with a diameter of 6 mm. Next, a spiral pattern will go, and you will have to knit strictly according to the pattern.

We knit according to the scheme until we reach a hat height of 24 cm, counting from the very beginning - from a set of loops. As soon as this moment has come, we proceed to the design of the top of the cap.

Row 1 (RS): without touching the edge loops, we knit 3 loops together according to the pattern, even though it will be 3 front together, at least - 3 purl. As a result, we should go to 34 loops.

Row 2 (WS): Purl through it.

Row 3 (RS): Again, ignore the edge loops and knit 2 front loops together. As a result, we get 18 loops.

Everything, the knitting of the hat is successfully completed. We tighten the remaining loops with a thread stretched through them and fasten the thread from the inside.

Separately, we make a pom-pom from pink yarn and attach it to the very top of the hat.

Materials for knitting: DROPS NEPAL pink yarn (powder pink, no. 3112, composition - 65% ordinary wool and 35% alpaca, 75 m per 50 g), 100 g each for a hat and for a collar, regardless of size (i.e. the kit will take 200 g of yarn), circular knitting needles 4.5 mm thick and 40 cm long (for a collar scarf size 2, take longer knitting needles 60 cm). And 2 double knitting needles of the same thickness for knitting the top of the hat.

Gauge in stockinette stitch: 18 sts. and 23 rows - a square with a side of 10 cm.

Patterns:

Garter Stitch (knit in the round on circular needles): *knit 1 row and purl the next 1 row*, repeat from * to *. 1 groove = 2 circular rows.

Spiral Pattern: Knit *purl 2, knit 5* - repeat st. between ** throughout the row. On the next row, the pattern will move forward 1 stitch, which will form a spiral.

Beanie

Knit on circular needles, if as you knit (reduce loops) it will be more convenient to use stocking needles, then switch to them.

Cast on 85 sts - 92 sts on circular needles. and knit in garter st to a height of 3 cm. Then continue knitting the hat with a spiral pattern (see description above). When the size reaches 19-20 cm in height, switch to knitting with front stitch (all loops are front in all rows), at the same time decreasing 1 pt.-2 pt. in the 1st row. (on the needles 84-90 pet.). Then place markers 14-15 sts apart. Dec 1 st on next row. in front of each marker on the needles 78 pet.-84 pet. Repeat these decreases in each circular row 5-6 more times (i.e. you get 6-7 rows with decreases in total). 48 sts should remain on the needles after the decrease.

Knit in the round on circular needles. Cast on 109 sts. -116 pet. and knit a headband in garter stitch to a height of 3 cm (3 grooves, i.e. 6 rows). Knit the next row, while decreasing 10 sts evenly in the same row. = 99-106 pet. Next circle. purl row. Continue in spiral patt until collar measures 16cm-20cm in height. Then work in garter st until scarf measures 18cm-22cm overall, ending with purl stitches next to each other. Close pet. as facial in the next row.
